Jay Ajayi (born 15 June 1993) is a former American football game running dorsum who played in the National Football League (NFL) and professional FIFA esports player. He played 5 seasons with the Miami Dolphins and Philadelphia Eagles. He played college football at Boise Land and was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Ajayi spent three seasons with the Dolphins, earning Pro Bowl honors in 2016, before being traded to Philadelphia during the 2017 season. As a fellow member of the Eagles, he was office of the team that won the franchise's first Super Bowl championship in Super Basin LII. He struggled with injuries later, leading to his 2022 retirement.

Early on years [edit]

Ajayi was born in London, England, on 15 June 1993, to Nigerian parents and moved to Maryland in the United States when he was seven years old in 2000.[1] [ii] He eventually moved to Texas, where he attended Frisco Liberty Loftier School.[3] As a senior on the football team, he rushed for two,240 yards and had 35 touchdowns.[4] He as well earned one varsity letter in track & field as a fellow member of the 4x400-meter (3:21.75), 4 × 200 k (i:29.44), and 4 × 100 m (42.86) district title teams.[5]

Considered a three-star recruit past Rivals.com, he was ranked as the 41st best running back prospect of his class.[6]

Higher career [edit]

Ajayi attended and played college football game for Boise Land from 2011 to 2014.[vii] He was redshirted equally a freshman at Boise State University in 2011. In October 2011, he was arrested for shoplifting after stealing a pair of sweatpants at a local Walmart and was later sentenced to five days in jail.[8] As a redshirt freshman in 2012, he played in 11 games. He is the only player in Boise Country history with three games of 200+ yards rushing.

Miami Dolphins [edit]

2015 season [edit]

Ajayi was drafted in the 5th round of the 2015 NFL Draft with the 149th overall selection by the Miami Dolphins (traded from the Minnesota Vikings in substitution for Mike Wallace).[24] He was the 14th of 22 running backs selected in that twelvemonth'southward draft.[25] [26] On 7 May 2015, the Dolphins signed him to a four-yr, $2.50 million rookie contract, which included a signing bonus of $220,813.[27]

2017 season [edit]

Ajayi entered the 2017 season every bit the Dolphins' top running back. Esports career [edit]

On 7 Jan 2020, Ajayi was signed by Major League Soccer'southward Philadelphia Union as the club'southward esports player in eMLS League Serial 1.[63]

Personal life [edit]
