Hair How-To: Messy Reverse French Braids - Makeup and Beauty Blog
I rue the solar day that sleek, perfect, not-i-pilus-out-of-place hairstyles come back into fashion because, duuuuude! — when that happens, I'g pretty much screwed.
Accept this messy reverse French braid, par exemple. I don't know why, just whenever I vesture it, I usually become one or two compliments, and information technology seems like the messier and crazier it looks, the more than it makes an impression.
Long live messy pilus! 😀
Hither's how I do it…
- I start past prepping my roots with a dry hairspray to add some elevator and volume (here I used Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle for oily Pilus).
- Next, I spray a texturizing spray from mid-shaft to the ends, and my ride-or-die is Kerastase Spray a Porter (SERIOUSLY THE BEST!!).
- Then, I part my pilus and practice a opposite French complect (which is basically the aforementioned affair every bit a regular French braid, just instead of pulling the hair over to create the braid, you pull it under) on one side, and secure it with an elastic ponytail holder.
Then I do the same thing with the other side until information technology meets the first complect. Later on that, I gently pull the elastic off the start complect and use it to secure both braids together at the signal where they run across.
- A quick spritz of an uber-concord hairspray (similar Kerastase Laque Noire Extra Strong Hold or something similar) all over, and I'm done.
I honey how like shooting fish in a barrel this style is (takes less than 10 minutes once you get the hang of it) and that it doesn't require whatever heat styling or fancy doodads. Plus, because it'southward purposefully messy, I tin can pretty much allow the hair do any it wants and just say, "Yes…I meant to do that."
